Goals

5-YEAR LONG TERM PLANNING STRATEGY

In 2004, Episcopal City Mission embarked on a planning process that helped ECM renew ties with parishes and community organizations and to forge a new vision of social justice mission in Massachusetts.

Over and over again, participants in long-term planning discussions offered this vision: parishes and Episcopal City Mission working together to make a practical difference in people’s lives and change the structures of poverty and oppression.

In November 2004, the ECM Executive Committee decided to pursue four goals emerging from this vision:

  • Helping parishes build affordable housing in at least 3 communities in the state
  • Investing in parish-based economic development projects, particularly those in which immigrants and low-income members of the community are part of the leadership.
  • Developing resources for parishes to engage in Christian social justice action and reflection
  • Advocating for just public policies on issues discerned by parishes and community allies

Having finished this cycle of visioning and planning, ECM is hard at work and seeking parishes and community organizations to be partners in a mission of social and economic justice for all in our state. Join us!
