Youth Justice and Power Union

Youth Justice and Power Union (YJPU), in partnership with the Unnamed Youth Organizing Network, will use the FOWH grant to integrate healing justice into their work by creating dedicated spaces for community healing, reflection, and action. They will hold events that allow residents, especially youth, to share stories, process crises, and create art, while also connecting these processes to action and campaign priorities. The grant will help fund 1:1 youth support, on-site therapy services, and peer-to-peer group activities, all informed by trauma-sensitive approaches. YJPU will also prioritize rest through retreats, personal time off, and mutual aid initiatives, alongside inviting healers and spiritual practitioners to work with the community. By weaving healing into their campaigns, including the Boston People’s Response and Louis D. Brown Peace Institute efforts, the organization will foster resilience and a sustainable path forward for their work.
