Asian American Resource Workshop

With support from Finding Our Way Home, AARW will continue a multi-year commitment to building social-emotional and spiritual resilience as a foundation for sustained power building. Funds will support ongoing Team Alignment Days, an overnight staff retreat, and continued coaching from an experienced external facilitator to strengthen skills in trust-building, navigating conflict, direct communication, trauma healing, somatic grounding, and principled struggle. This internal capacity-building work is essential to cultivating a healthy, disciplined, and unified organization capable of meeting the demands of the current political moment.

As staff deepen their resilience and embodied leadership skills, AARW will extend this healing justice work outward to members through facilitated processing, healing, and resistance spaces—particularly for deportation-impacted Southeast Asian members and working-class Vietnamese women. Grant funds will support retreats, facilitation, coaching, and member-facing healing spaces, ensuring this work is accessible, culturally grounded, and responsive to community needs. AARW’s hypothesis is that sustained investment in healing and social-emotional resilience will strengthen internal cohesion, sharpen rapid-response campaigns, and cultivate deeper leadership among staff and members alike—integrating healing and discipline into an organizing model that sustains grounded, courageous, and collectively powerful leadership over the long term.
