Building Muscles of Resistance: Processing Emotions (Powerfully!)

Join us on Tuesday, April 14th to connect, reflect, and take part in ECM’s Emergent Action Network (EAN)—a hub for spiritual grounding, collaboration, and meaningful action. Together,  we can build the community that builds a better world.

This month we will focus on “processing emotions” outside of traditional western methods. We’ll explore how our work with emotions goes beyond an act of individual healing, and recognize their power in weaving community together and building a collective resistance. Emotions are most dangerous when they are bottled up and end up leaking out, often in unhealthy and destructive ways. Our movements suffer when we don't have embodied and shared ways to move through them, and many social movements are marred by conflict when the emotional pain of the injustices overtakes our own relationships. There is another path - let’s go down it together.

This gathering will be valuable whether you’ve been attending since the beginning, or if it’s your first time joining. It’s not necessary, but if you would like to catch up on our “Building Muscles of Resistance” series, check out the December videofor an introduction, and the March video on “Ways of Knowing”.
