Preaching Boldly This Fall — A Working Session on the Lectionary and ECM's work of justice - ZOOM
This fall's lectionary (Proper 20 through Christ the King) hands preachers an unusually direct gift: vineyard wages, authority and accountability, a banquet thrown open to whoever can be found, Caesar's coin, the Beatitudes, talents entrusted and risked, and a final judgment that turns entirely on how we treated those most marginalized by injustice. Nine weeks of texts that already carry much of what ECM is asking of us this season — TPS solidarity, Center for Cooperative Development and Solidarity and cooperative economics, housing justice, organizing across generations.
Join the Rev. Arrington Chambliss, Executive Director of ECM, and the Rev. Dr. Richard Burden, Rector of All Saints Parish, Brookline on Thursday Sept 10 at 10 to 11am to share a full lectionary-to-action outline built around this arc — week-by-week themes, preaching prompts, and framing that holds prophetic and pastoral together without resorting to partisan language.
