With support from Finding Our Way Home, the organization will intentionally deepen its integration of healing, culture, and spiritual nourishment into its power-building model. Building on existing practices of storytelling, shared meals, music, art-making, and reflection, funds will support training and materials to strengthen collective facilitation of healing practices within regular meetings and gatherings. The organization will also create dedicated spaces for community healing and joy—through retreats or local gatherings—where members and their families can step away from constant crisis, reconnect with one another, and experience safety, creativity, and rest.
Grant funding will also support staff wellbeing through dedicated resources for restoration, whether through shared activities such as retreats and creative practices or individual and family-centered care. The organization’s hypothesis is that centering healing and creativity strengthens trust, belonging, and resilience—sending a clear message that people are valued not only for their labor, but for their humanity. By nourishing bodies, minds, and spirits, the organization anticipates deeper engagement, stronger leadership, and a more sustainable foundation for collective action, with ripple effects across partner organizations and the broader movement ecosystem.
