MA Voter Table
With funding from Finding Our Way Home, MVT will provide healing and spiritual support for its staff and table members during an especially challenging period for civic organizing. Organizers often face emotional exhaustion as they work to engage communities and protect democracy while also being directly impacted by systemic injustices. Funding will support pre-retreat virtual healing sessions, guided by a spiritual practitioner, that include meditation, journaling, and reflection to help staff and members recenter and restore their energy before attending a three-day, two-night retreat in the Berkshires. The retreat will offer structured opportunities for yoga, meditation, wellness practices, and personal choice in restorative activities to deepen rest, connection, and resilience.
This integration of healing practices into MVT’s work is designed to sustain staff and strengthen the organization’s capacity for long-term civic engagement. By building time for rest, reflection, and spiritual practice into the work week and retreat, MVT anticipates improved morale, increased focus, and greater readiness for leadership and campaign activities. The funding will also allow members to experience wellness programming that supports their ongoing personal and professional growth, creating a culture of care and sustainability across the organization.
