Massachusetts Communities Action Network

With funding from Finding Our Way Home, MCAN will deepen the integration of healing, rest, spiritual practice, and culture across its network, reaching staff, local leaders, and training participants statewide and beyond. Healing is embedded into core programs like Train the Trainer and School of Liberation, where grounding exercises, reflection, shared meals, and holistic practices create space for rest, emotional processing, and connection. Funding will support holistic healers, staff retreats, reflection materials, and facilitation, allowing MCAN to make healing practices a consistent, accessible, and intentional part of how organizers train, gather, and lead.

By embedding these practices, MCAN aims to build a more grounded, resilient, and creative network of organizers. Integrating healing into daily work and leadership development strengthens trust, reduces burnout, and enhances retention while modeling care-centered organizing. Leaders and participants will approach campaigns from wholeness rather than depletion, creating a movement that prioritizes both systemic change and the well-being of those who do the work.
