With funding from Finding Our Way Home, Mujeres Victoriosas will deepen the integration of healing, rest, spiritual practice, and culture by creating dedicated spaces for staff and community leaders. After months of nonstop organizing, leaders will participate in a three-day retreat in nature with their families, engaging in art, storytelling, cooking, mindfulness, yoga, and other restorative practices. This will be complemented by monthly healing activities, workshops with facilitators and healers, and ongoing support to embed rest and rejuvenation into daily work. By prioritizing leaders’ well-being first, the organization ensures that they can model and sustain healing practices for the broader community and members.

This focus on leaders is designed to strengthen the organization’s culture of community care and healing justice. When leaders are rested and grounded, they can more effectively facilitate community-building, mobilization, and base-building efforts. By exploring multiple restorative practices, Mujeres Victoriosas will build resilience, expand spiritual and emotional support structures, and create a ripple effect that enhances both the sustainability and effectiveness of its justice and movement work.
