Center for Cooperative Development and Solidarity
With support from Finding Our Way Home, the organization will continue and strengthen its community-based healing and emotional support work, centered through its cooperative project Escuchar para sanar. Funds will support facilitated spaces where staff, members, and community participants can share stories of struggle, practice active listening, and build practical life skills for navigating daily stress, fear, and trauma. This work emphasizes not only gathering for healing, but equipping people with tools they can carry into their homes, relationships, and community life.
Grant funding will provide stipends for cooperative facilitators, childcare, food, and interpretation to ensure accessibility and participation across the community. The organization’s hypothesis is that without integrating mental, emotional, and spiritual support, collective power cannot fully take root or flourish. By centering healing as a shared responsibility—where everyone is both a giver and receiver of care—the organization aims to strengthen resilience, solidarity, and sustainability across its ecosystem, ensuring that justice work can continue to grow even in the midst of ongoing harm.
